The media paints the real estate landscape with a broad brush, but a closer look around the country reveals a different portrait. Some factors affecting the market are Nationwide, such as the subprime mortgage market crisis, but others like the housing depreciation are restricted to certain areas.
The media frenzy makes people think that these problems are everywhere, which is not the case. Before trusting what you hear in the media, make sure that you know whether they are talking locally or about somewhere else in the country that is facing hard times. Here in Minnesota the market is completely different than in a place like California where they are facing major issues with housing depreciation and high inventory levels.
